San-J, International was founded more than 200 years ago in Japan as San-Jirushi. They began importing their products to the U.S. in 1978, where their products became so popular that they built their own plant in the U.S., and now, in addition to production plants, they are headquartered in Richmond, VA. Their U.S. production combines traditional Japanese brewing methods with modern technology.
